Champions Kano Pillars will be without strikers Gambo Mohammed and Manir Ubale at the Super 4, officials have disclosed.

Gambo has not recovered fully from injury, which cost him a place on Nigeria’s squad to the 2014 CHAN, while Ubale is not fully match-fit after he was granted compassionate leave to get married.

Pillars spokesman Idris Malikawa told MTNFootball.com,Gambo has not fully recovered from injury.

“He has returned to training, but he has not fully recovered and so will not feature in the Super 4,” he informed.

The Pillars 25-man squad will be led to Abuja by goalkeeper Theophilus Afelokhai.

They have also included Cameroonian defender Isaac Hele, who has returned from Sunshine Stars, as well as several recent signings like Abdul Haruna, Ezekiel Henry, Henry Mba, Adamu Hassan, Eneji Otekpa and Kingsley Udoh.

Pillars will play their opening Super 4 game against Warri Wolves at 4pm on Friday.

Enyimba and Bayelsa United are the other clubs in this pre-season tournament.
