Former President, Nigeria Union of Journalists, Senator Smart Adeyemi, has faulted yesterday’s resolution by All Progressives Congress, APC directing its members in the National Assembly to block all legislative proposals, including the 2014 Appropriation Bill.
The APC had also directed its members, among others, to stand against the confirmation of the appointment of the service chiefs and ministerial nominees.
Smart described the party’s position as anti-people.Smart, who is also chairman, Senate Committee on Federal Capital Territory said the move by the APC allegedly directing its lawmakers to antagonise the PIB; “if it is true, that is most unfortunate for the party that claims to be a progressive; to come out to say that.
It is undemocratic, it is unconstitutional, unbiblical and unislamic position by a political party in the history of modern politics.”
The lawmaker added that “For a party to come with anti-people politics and claiming to be progressive; for some of us, in the PDP, we look forward to an opposition that will help in galvanising and accelerating economic activities.”
He, however, noted that Nigerians do not want a party that will add to their burdens, saying that his party, the PDP is making frantic effort to salvage the situation.
