Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Elder Godsday Orubebe has summoned the contractors handling the Skill Acquisition Centre in Ikot Nakanda, Cross Rivers State to his office in Abuja to explain the reasons behind the slow pace of work at the site in spite of huge funds committed to the project.

Elder Orubebe, who was accompanied by the Minister of State, Mr. Darius Dickson Ishaku, an architect, Minister of Culture and Tourism, Chief Edem Duke and other top management staff of the Ministry, on the inspection tour of the project site, expressed disappointment with the level of work done so far by the contractors.

The Skill Acquisition project meant to train Niger Delta youths in the entertainment industry, is expected to be completed by now ahead of its formal commissioning in March 2014.

The minister expressed dissatisfaction with the level of work done by Messrs Globe Tenst Nig. LTD – Lot one, Messrs Naaman Associates – Lot Two, Messrs Anchor Nuel LTD- Lot Three, the contractors handling the construction works.
