Kano Pillars defender, Ikechukwu Gabriel has declared that they are hungry for more success next season following the gifts showered on them by the Kano State Government for defending the league title.

Gabriel is adamant the rewards of cars and cash would motivate them to do more for the club, and that they will not relent in their efforts to make it a hat-trick of NPFL titles next season.

He acknowledged that their back-to-back title wins have been hard-fought, and they know it would even be more difficult to replicate the feat next season.

“The rewards by the Kano State Government have been quite timely and it has really inspired us to do more for the club next season,” Gabriel said.

“It shows our efforts are being appreciated, and that is the tonic every sportsman needs to build on their previous performance.

“We know we’ll be the target of the rest of the premier league next season, but we are prepared for the challenge.

“We’re determined to do more for the government and people of KanoState who have supported us tremendously.

“It wasn’t easy last season, but we were able to keep our heads to fend off the likes of Enyimba and Bayelsa United.

“The team is virtually the same, so we have a lot of experience to fall back on.”

Gabriel also believes they can make an impact in the CAF Champions League if lessons have been learned from this year’s early exit.
