Jonathan rescues NFF, approves N280m for unpaid salaries

President Goodluck Jonathan has approved N280 million for the payment of outstanding  of national team coaches led by Stephen Keshi.

This payment, which was approved on Friday, will cover not just the Super Eagles coaches, but other national team coaches like former Flying Eagles handler John Obuh.

“The memo from the minister of sports is about 280 million naira to cover for all the coaches in the Super Eagles who are being owed about seven months or so,” a source in the Presidency informed

“The amount also includes the outstanding owed former Flying Eagles coach John Obuh.”

Obuh’s unpaid salaries are put at over 25 million Naira and date back to 2010. This year, the former Flying Eagles coach petitioned the Senate over his unpaid salaries.
