LAGOS—The Infrastructure Development Agency, IDA, has commended the Federal Government for awarding the reconstruction of some major highways in the country, saying that this would stimulate economic growth in the country.
The roads include the N80 billion Enugu- Port-Harcourt expressway and the multi-billion Naira Benin-Ore- Shagamu road as well as the Abuja-Lokoja road.
This was contained in a statement signed by the National Coordinator of IDA, Mr Johnbull Adaghe.
IDA which said that its main objective was to promote rural development by ensuring the “provision of roads, bridges, power and water in underprivileged locations and among other vulnerable ones,” further said, “we laud the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan on the recent award of the Enugu-Port Harcourt dual carriageway for reconstruction.
The Enugu-Port Harcourt dual carriageway will impact on the economy of the Nigeria because of its strategic connections.
