LAGOS—The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has allayed fears expressed by some clearing agents and other government agencies operating in the nation’s ports on the recent taking over of Destination Inspection (DI) from the service providers, stressing that Customs has modern technology, skills and the capacity to handle DI procedures for greater productivity in the economy.
The Customs Area Controller (CAC) of Tincan Island Command, Comptroller Zakare Jubrin, said this during the sensitisation campaign embarked upon by the Comptroller General of Customs, Dikko Inde, in Lagos, saying that the full take-over of DI marked the commencement of a new dawn in the Service.
