Coscharis Motors, a foremost automobile dealer and representatives of Ford Motor Corporation in Nigeria, has announced the expansion of the Extended Service Plan (ESP) sales promotion by adding Ford Ranger (Pickup) to the list of vehicles that qualify for the package. The package offers free service for 4 years or 120,000 kilometres whichever comes first, to its existing and prospective customers on certain variants of the Ford brand purchased from any Coscharis Motors showrooms nation-wide.
The Extended service Plan (ESP) is a package which allows the buyers of a qualified Ford variant to own the vehicle for four years or 120,000 kilometres, whichever comes first, without worry as he need not spend a kobo to service the vehicle throughout the life span of the ESP. What this means is that for four years or 120,000 kilometres, Coscharis Motors will service the vehicle for the buyer free of charge. All the customer need do is to drive the vehicle to any Coscharis Motors service centre nationwide to get the vehicle serviced and drive away thereafter without paying a kobo.
Among the freebies to be enjoyed by customers for the 4 years/ 120,000 ESP package period are: Free oil change; Free tyre rotation; Free brake pads; Free wiper blades; Free belts and hoses ; and Free shocks.
According to the Group Managing Director of Coscharis Motors, Mr. Josiah Samuel, “the free ESP promo was expanded due to persistent requests being received from customers for the inclusion of more Ford variants in the list of qualified vehicles for the free package.” Mr. Samuel explained that the programme started with the offering of free services on about six variants but has since grown to about 10 variants including Ford Ranger (pickup).
Mr. Samuel further explained that the free ESP only seeks the continued realization of the vision Henry Ford had over 100 years ago, which seeks to make automobile available and affordable to all mankind. When asked if the cost of maintaining these customers’ vehicles for free will not mitigate the profitability of their after sales business, Mr. Samuel had this to say, “We are sure of the quality of our products and of the fact that maintenance cost of the products is quite low – this is part of the messages we are communicating through the ESP offer – maintenance cost is so low that we can even take it off you”. Another reason for the offer according to the GMD is “our desire to take over our customers’ worries about vehicle maintenance and free their minds so that they can focus more on the accomplishment of their primary objectives in business and leisure”.
