Association appeals to ASUU, FG to resolve differences

Abuja – The Parents Consultative Association of Nigerian Universities (PCANU), has appealed to Federal Government and ASUU to end the latter’s lingering strike.

The appeal is contained in a statement signed by National President of the association, Mr Don Sabara, in Abuja on Tuesday.

The statement pleaded with ASUU to sheath its sword with a view to resolving the matter amicably.

It added that the crisis could be resolved through the spirit of give and take, “so that our children and the nation do not become a laughing stock in the comity of nations.

“The ultimatum, in our opinion, is not the best approach to resolving this issue particularly in a fledgling democracy like ours.

“We urge ASUU to see reason and give Mr President the benefit of doubt that the agreement, this time, would be honoured by his government.

“This is necessary, considering the high level of intervention exhibited at the last negotiation aimed at seeing our children go back to their various campuses.’’ (NAN)
