Abuja—Although  President Jonathan is yet to formally declare his interest for a second term in 2015, groups and individuals working for him, yesterday, took their campaign for his re-election to a new level with posters declaring the President ‘wanted’ in relation to the 2015 contest.

The campaign materials with Jonathan’s pictures, were posted at many locations in the Federal Capital Territory by a group, Men and Women of Action Campaign Team.
The A3-sized coloured poster showing President Jonathan in his traditional Ijaw attire with cap to match, listed several reasons the President should return to Aso Rock in 2015 and continue to rule Nigeria.

The poster had the following message embossed on it: “Wanted! Wanted!! Wanted!!!”
President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCON, GCFR, if you see this man, kindly return him to Aso Villa in 2015 because he needs to complete the following: The power (electricity) sector, the road projects, railway projects, airport projects etc.

He has also brought good fortune to Nigeria-Cup of Nations, Under 17 World Cup and Brazil 2014 qualification, peace in the Niger Delta and in the North.
“Remember how he solved the fuel (energy) problems years ago. Goodluck Nigeria,” the group said.

When our correspondent called the phone number listed as that of the group’s National Coordinator, a male voice, who identified himself as Solomon Akaya, answered and admitted placing the posters in the FCT.
Akaya said the group decided on its own to mount the re-election campaign for Jonathan even without contacting him, because of what they claimed was the president’s superb performance in office so far.

Akaya said, “We have seen that Jonathan has done so well in office and that is what informed our decision to start campaigning for him. We did not consult anyone; not even the president before we started the campaign.”
