2013 Quadrangular Games: LCC emerges champions

After one week of intensive competition, the 2013 Quadrangular Games ended with the emergence of the Lagos Country Club as the new champion.

The LCC overcame a resolute performance by the erstwhile defending champion, Ikoyi Club 1938 to emerge tops with 11 gold, 12 silver and 9 bronze medals.

The LCC was closely followed by Ikoyi Club 1938 which garnered 11 gold, 9 silver and 5 bronze medals while host club, the Apapa Club with 9 gold, 5 silver and 10 bronze medals placed third in the log.

Lagos Lawn Tennis Club placed a distant fourth with 2 gold, 5 silver and 10 bronze medals to complete the table.

Chairman of the Organising Committee, Emmanuel Ibru praised the various clubs for putting up what he described as “an excellent show.”

He said the objective of the games, which is for members of the four clubs to interact and socialise was achieved. “We had a good time and as hosts, we, the Apapa Club ensured our guests were given the best in terms of hospitality. It was an unforgettable one week of competition and fun,” he said

The Quadrangular Games holds annually among the four top social clubs in Lagos.
