Chief S. Nwobu Alor, is a Special Adviser, Parks and Markets in the  government of  Peter Obi, Anambra State. In this interview with Moses Nosike, Saturday Vanguard Business, he advised Sout-East governors to do away with political affiliation, religious inclinations to provide sufficient enabling environment to attract investors to the zone, saying, that people should vote credible candidates to achieve results. Excerpts:

Chief, Anambra state needs more development in addition to Governor Peter Obi’s achievement; looking at the candidates for governorship position, considering your experience, what is your advice?

The Government of All Progressives Grand Alliance in Anambra State has achieved a lot in the area of infrastructural development and every Tom, Dick and Harry has been praying and hoping for the emergence of a credible candidate to take over from Governor Peter Obi.

Our prayers have been answered and a credible candidate who will meet the expectations of the people, in the name of Mr. Willy Obiano has emerged.

My advice is that all those who want continued development of Anambra state must vote for APGA in the forth-coming gubernatorial election.

Considering the achievements of the present governor, which other aspect of the state development do you consider necessary?

All aspects of development are needed by the Anambra  people, but perhaps the only area of development that requires special attention is inter-personal relations development.

The recognition and respect for the human person should go pari pasu with structural development.

If you were to recommend for Anambra people a candidate that would deliver results, what should be considered?

If I am to recommend for Anambra people a candidate that would deliver results, I would recommend a person who is credible, a person who is committed to the people’s aspirations, a person who is transparent in the management of public funds, a person who believes in justice, equity and has good conscience, a person who has positive inter-personal relations with his people.

For South-East to develop infrastructures that would create employment in that part of the country, how should the governors contribute?

For any government to provide job for the unemployed such government must encourage private investors by providing enabling environment for investment.

Such enabling environment may include good roads, steady power supply, security, tax incentives, etc.

In order to achieve this, the Governors of South East must work together as a team irrespective of political affiliation or religious inclination and provide sufficient enabling environment to attract investors to the zone.

You were a major advocate of APGA restructuring but this seems to have died down. Have you thrown in the towel?

The issue of party restructuring is an inevitable project that concerns the overall interest of the entire Igbo nation.  I have to slow down the tempo to almost a point of zero in order to ensure that APGA wins the forthcoming governorship election in Anambra State.
