MAKURDI — A councillor (names withheld) and six others have been arrested by the Benue State Police Command for allegedly attacking and burning down the house of Ukum Local Government Area Chairman, Mr. Teryima Nguher.

The suspects were, last Tuesday, alleged to have invaded the home of the Chairman at Gyado-Wukari community in Zaki-Biam, where they reportedly shot a man before setting the house ablaze.

The Benue State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Adams Audu, said, yesterday, that the suspects were already undergoing interrogation to determine their complicity in the matter.

Audu said the attack was a fallout of a dispute between contenders for a chieftaincy stool in the community.
