By Prince Osuagwu

ABUJA—The 2013 Commonwealth Telecommunications Organization, CTO forum, kicked off yesterday in Abuja with Vice President Namadi Sambo admitting that ICT had made government more responsive and alert to its responsibilities.

Sambo through the Minister of Communications Technology, Mrs Omobola Johnson said Nigeria was ready to get onto the top of world activities by activating necessary ICT models that had seen other countries achieve quantum growth and development.

He expressed happiness that the CTO forum was holding in Nigeria with a theme “Innovation through broadband” which he said could produce ideas that could give the country more digital powers.

The vice president said: ”Broadband internet has made the greatest impact in creating an informed public who we as public office holders owe a responsibility and our services. It has revolutionized the world and countries explore its activities to be in the forefront of world businesses. Nigeria is ready to be part of these activities.

“On that ground, on behalf of President Goodluck Jonathan, we are happy that this event is holding in Nigeria and as such happy to declare it open”
