BENIN CITY — A stalwart of All Progressives Congress, APC, in Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State, Mr. Moses Idahosa, yesterday, described as wicked and misleading, a report in the social media that he raped one Joan Nwadike in Benin City.

Idahosa, who expressed shock over the report, said the report had damaged his image and asked the Osun State based- newspaper to retract the story or face legal action within the next 14 days.

His words: “ I was really shocked when my friends informed me about what was written on the Internet that a girl alleged that I raped her, that is untrue. I have never met, seen or known anybody called Joan in my entire life.

“Infact as God will have it, the picture they used as the woman was the picture of the late wife of a monarch.

“This wicked people went and took my picture in my facebook account. How the story came about, I do not know, it beats my imagination that somebody can cook up such damaging story about me. The report has caused me and my family serious embarrassment and I have written to the media house to retract those lies or I will take legal action.

While calling on the publishing outfit to retract the story in its entirety, Idahosa said he had already reported the matter to the police while he is still holding discussions with his lawyer.
