After the success recorded at the maiden edition of the AfricaMagic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA), organisers said, they may soon commence the voting process ahead of the second edition billed for 2014.
This was disclosed during the week by the Regional Manager, AfricaMagic, Wangi Mba-Uzoukwu while announcing the extension of the closing date for the submission of entries into all the categories as outlined this year from 18th of October to 1st of November.
Mba-Uzoukwu said, nominees will be announced on the 6th of December, while voting commences immediately.
Mba-Uzoukwu said, “Following the overwhelming and positive feedback from our stakeholders, we are pleased to announce that the closing date for the submission of entries into all outlined categories has been extended from October 18th to 1st November 2013 and the Nominee announcement will now take place on the 6th of December 2013. Voting will commence immediately.
According to him, the organisers have selected English, Hausa, Swahili and Yoruba as the only accepted language on the stage for next year’s AMVCA,
Also, in line with giving viewers value for their money, and to ensure that mobile and app platform users are represented in the show, they have unveiled, a new category called, Best Online Video, which is open for short format original content created specifically for use on websites.
