IKEJA— An Ikeja Magistrate’s Court in Lagos, yesterday, remanded a 24-year-old man, Ndubuisi Nweke, alleged to have robbed some residents of valuables worth N389,500, at the Kirikiri Prisons, Apapa.
The Magistrate, Mrs Margaret Dan-Oni, ordered that the accused be detained, pending legal advice from the state Director of Public Prosecutions, DPP.
The accused, who resides at 4, Badalu St., Maza-Maza, Lagos, is facing a nine-count charge bordering on conspiracy and armed robbery.
The prosecutor, Inspector Edet Okoi, had earlier told the court that the accused, with others still at large, committed the offences at 2.30a.m.on September 6 at 22/24, Alhaji Kareem St., Olodi-Apapa, Lagos.
Okoi said that the gang went from flat to flat and dispossessed the residents of phones, recharge cards, jewelleries and cash, all worth N389, 500.
The plea of the accused was, however, not taken.
The case was adjourned till December 3, for mention.
