As part of its efforts to give its subscribers variety, Startimes Tuesday added two new sports channels to its stable.
Speaking at a press briefing in Lagos, Chief Executive Officer, NTA Star TV Network Limited, Joshua Wang said it is imperative for the organization to satisfy the yearnings of its over 1.5million subscribers, adding that the new sports channels as well as others were created to expand the channels in its stable.
The NBA TV, Wang said is exclusive to Startimes and it is a dedicated channel that shows the best of live basketball matches.
“The NBA TV is exclusive to only Startimes as basketball lovers can enjoy over 200 matches from the 2013/2014 season, while WNBA is also not excluded from what NBA TV has to offer,” he said.
Wang added: “Setanta action is another addition from the sentata family. You can enjoy live and delayed events featuring extreme sports, kick boxing, wrestling, mixed martial arts and boxing, while others are action series and magazine shows.”
He however, said Startimes has been launched in 16 states across the country, while there are plans to move to 15 states before the end of the year.
Being the biggest paid TV in Nigeria, Wang said the organization would switch to digital from analogy by January 1, 2015.
