Rivers Angels of Port Harcourt team manager, Matilda Opuene said Sunday’s final of the women Federation Cup against Nasarawa Amazons will not be taken lightly by her players, she promised that their opponets will be beaten to honour their teeming fans.
The match is billed to kick off at 1.30 p.m at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos.
Opuene told NAN her team arrived in Lagos a day earlier and in good “fighting spirit”.
She said they had been doing fine since arrival and were looking forward to Sunday’s clash. “We expect to give our teeming fans the best of football and then secure victory. We are gingered for the task of delivering on our promise,” the club official said. The team manager however said it was a rare opportunity for the club to be playing at the big stage in the competition.
“It’s a good thing to have our team play in front of a very big crowd and the hard-to-satisfy Lagos fans. “It has been a long while we played before such crowd. But then it has not been easy coming this far in the competition.
“However, come Sunday, we will make our fans proud and happy,” Opuene said.
