A Lagos-based property development firm, Messrs Propertygate Development and Investment Plc, has given a boost to housing provision in the popularLekki peninsular corridor with the completion of a highbrow mini residential housing estate.
Christened Alexandria Quarters, the estate which sits on 9,000 square metres land, is a gated estate comprising 33 finished to taste apartments. They include six semi-detached houses, 10 terraces, 18 apartments and two units of one-bedroom apartment. The houses are all en-suite. The estate also comprises a commercial block that has a grocery, gym and estate office.
Conducting newsmen round the estate last weekend, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the company, Mr. Adetokunbo Ajayi said the estate which is covered by a registered title was a direct allocation from Lagos state government within New Town Development Authority, NTDA Skyview Residential Scheme. He explained that the concept of the estate allowed for space flow during the construction to allow maximum air in the estate.
Describing the housing units as “beautiful functional homes with great finishing”, Mr. Ajayi explained that attention was given to detailed quality finishing during the construction so that landlords in the estate will not change anything while in their houses, unlike in some cases where home owners have to change certain things because they lack quality.
Ajayi who disclosed that about 40 per cent of the houses have already been sold , said his company has introduced what he termed extended payment option to accommodate subscribers who cannot pay for their houses within the specified period. According to him, 50 per cent down payment must be met before taking possession, while the balance of the remaining 50 per cent will be paid in the duration of two years with interest rate of between 10 and 12 per cent.
The price of a semi-detached house is N37.5 million, a terraced house costs N36.5 million while an apartment costs N31 million. The mini apartments cost N13 million each.
Amenities in the estate include a dedicated sub station, underground cabling, street lights, paved roads, walkways and drains and a mini water works of 220 metres deep borehole. Others include beautiful landscape, recreation centre, grocery store, security gate house with CCTV cameras and estate managers’ office.
The Propertygate boss added that his company had to embark on underground cabling to check interruption while central backup generators would be installed to minimise noise in the estate.
