National Movement of Nigeria, NMN, has hailed the declaration of national leadership of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, that the no confidence vote passed on Chief Mike Oghiadomhe, Chief of Staff to President Goodluck Jonathan, by some party members, was inconsequential and of no effect.
The group also commended PDP leadership for warning that the party would no longer tolerate indiscriminate pronouncements by party members against persons and organs legitimately holding sensitive positions.
Mr. Okharedia Ihimekpen, National Publicity Secretary of the movement, in a statement, said the drama of name dropping and mudslinging at the party in Edo North senatorial district of Edo State recently “has its roots in Etsako Central.”
He said: “Some PDP leaders, feeling intimidated by Oghiadomhe’s performance, are using ignorant party members to cause confusion and raise tension.”
Ihimekpen urged Oghiadomhe not to be distracted in his duty at the Presidency and in ensuring that Edo people, South-South and indeed Nigerians get dividends of democracy.
He pledged the support of NMN to President Jonathan’s transformation agenda, which he said remains the last hope to re-direct the country towards the path of development.
