Nigeria’s national women’s basketball team who placed fourth in Group B of  the Afrobasket champion-ship holding in Maputo, Mozambique, will today confront the host to decide who moves into the semi final tomorrow.

The Nigerian women who had very little time to prepare for this championship won two matches against Kenya and Cape Verde but lost three to favourites Angola, Mali and Cameroon in their group.

Coach Scott Nnaji who spoke on phone from the the team’s camp in Maputo yesterday said they are ready to put in their best in the crucial encounter while the Nigeria Basketball Federation, NBBF president, Tijjani Umar who joined the team in Maputo Wednesday said he hopes the players will be focused to confront the host.

“They had a good game against Cameroon but lost concentration in the last quarter. I hope they will be focused as they confront the host on Friday,” he said
