Lagos— A 27-year-old man, Oluwatosin Olapade, has been arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrate Court, Lagos, over alleged rape and stealing of phones.
Olapade, who was docked before Magistrate Abimbola Komolafe, is facing a four-count charge bordering on rape and stealing preferred against him by the police.
Police prosecutor, Inspector Iranus Nnamonu, told the court that the defendant committed the alleged offence on August 29 in Ojodu area of Lagos.
He said the defendant unlawfully had canal knowledge of his victim, aged 20, without her consent.
He told the court that on August 30, at 6am, Olapade stole one Iphone, five handsets and a BlackBerry worth N350,000, belongings of his victim.
He said that the defendant stole cash sum of N160,000 from his victim.
Olapade pleaded not guilty to the four-count charge.
The Magistrate granted him bail in the sum of N100,000, with two responsible sureties in like sum.
She adjourned the matter till October 29 for mention.
