Direct-to-Home cable channel, GoTV recently launched its services in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state, dropping cost of its equipment acquisition to N6,900 for residents in the state.
The current single price offer of just N6, 900, according to GoTV, includes a GOtv decoder, GOtenna (outdoor antenna) and one month subscription to GOtv Plus. However, the company said the dropping of price for the people of Uyo became necessary to ensure that many people in the ancient town prepare ahead of Nigeria’s migration to digital services before 2015.
The company describes itself as an African business that is constantly striving to meet the needs of television audiences in Nigeria.
According to the company’s General Manager, MrsElizabeth Amkpa, “ahead of the Analogue Switch off scheduled for June 2015 in Nigeria, GOtv now provides a range of options for the people to select from which are affordable, accessible and relevant to all television lovers. GOtv was launched on the latest DVB-T2 technology, which means there is no need to replace or upgrade your decoder, you are on the latest technology”, she added.
She also stated that “We at GOtv are constantly innovating to ensure we continue to deliver the best possible digital television to Nigeria. Besides the price reduction, GoTV also launch two brand new channels, Telemundo and Planet Radio TV and as well activated a new service bouquet – GOtv Open in Uyo.
