Lome – Togolese Prime Minister, Kwesi Séléagodji Ahumey-Zunu, has resigned, leaving office with members of his cabinet, the Togolese presidency said in a statement made available to PANA on Wednesday.
It said that President Faure Essozimna Gnassingbe has since accepted his resignation.
According to the presidency, the resignation followed the results of the parliamentary elections, held on July 25 and described by the opposition as “sham”.
Appointed on July 19, 2012, Mr Ahumey-Zunu is a member of the Patriotic Pan-African Convergence (CPP), an ally of the ruling party. (PANA/NAN)
