The Golf session of the Benin Club was last weekend in Benin city a beehive of activities as golfers from all walks of life and different parts of Nigeria converged for the first PAN CEAN Benin Golf Classic solely sponsored by the oil and gas company.

The tournament teed off as early as 6:30am with different categories of three golfers each taking their turn to out-do one another with all dexterity to emerge winner.

Commenting on the tournament, the Assistant General Manager, External Relations of PAN OCEAN, Edith Njideka Okujagu, who is a debutant golfer, expressed great pleasure, adding that “I feel great. I have never been in golf before. Holding the golf kits is so interesting and exciting.”

Also, the Operations Base Manager, PAN OCEAN Benin, Monday Ikhureigbe described the tournament as fantastic especially as it was the first time the oil and gas operator was sponsoring golf all alone.

According to him, “At the beginning of 2013, PAN OCEAN established its operations base in Benin and we decided to get involved in golf tournament to announce its presence in the metropolis” adding that “It is all about the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility.”

The General Manager of PAN OCEAN, Toni Ezeukwu summed up his feelings thus “It is for good health and friendship.”

The event, which started with a pre-tournament party on Friday evening, ended after the games with a reception on Saturday night where the Assistant General Manager, Edith Njideka Okujagu joined other dignitaries to present trophies and prizes to  the winners in the different categories..
