Ogun police nab 3 suspected robbers

ABEOKUTA — The Ogun  State Police Command said it arrested three suspected robbers barely a day after it arrested 11 suspects in Abeokuta.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Muyiwa Adejobi, in a statement in Abeokuta, yesterday, explained that  the three robbery suspects were  operating  in Ogun and Oyo states  before they were apprehended at  Obada Oko and Papalanto, Ifo Local Government Area of the  state on Sunday afternoon.

According to Adejobi, “Abiola Akanni, Eniola Fajobi, and Peter Hammed are  members of a robbery syndicate that was burst in Ifo recently whose case is under prosecution inMagistrate  Court 2 of Otta with nine suspects already arraigned before the magistrate.

“The suspects were arrested as a follow up to the ongoing  investigation into the series of robbery operations of the burst syndicate by a special team of policemen led by the Divisional Police Officer in Ifo Division, CSP Gbenga Megbope. The suspects have confessed to the crimes.

“Items recovered from the suspects included one locally made double barrel gun, one locally made single barrel gun, 20 live cartridges, 10 GSM hand sets, jewellery and three brand new unregistered Bajaj motorcycles.”
