Former University of Benin don and chieftain of All Progressives Congress, APC, in Delta State, Prof. Adego Eferakeya, has said that there was no Elders’ Forum in the state chapter of the party, contrary to claims in some quarters.
Eferakeya, who spoke, yesterday, to journalists in his Amukpe country home in Sapele Local Government Area of the state, said he was an elder of the party and one of the foremost members.
He said that he was older than the eldest among those in Delta State spreading the rumour that there was an Elders’ Forum in the state chapter of the party. He urged supporters of the party to disregard what he termed “power thirsty rumour carriers.”
On the preparation of the newly registered APC to win elections in the state, Prof. Eferakeya said “When we get to the bridge, we will cross it.”
He denied claim of factionalism in APC, saying “there is neither division nor factionalism in Delta State APC. The party is only ensuring that the PDP cabal does not infiltrate APC.”
