WARRI—FORMER Minister of State for Education and leading entrepreneur in Delta State, Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi, has resuscitated his political structures in the three senatorial districts of the state, in preparation for the 2015 governorship race.
Vanguard gathered that Gbagi is consulting with other leaders of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, opinion leaders and royal fathers in the state on his ambition, which a close source said “is borne out of his burning desire to transform the state.”
Gbagi, who contested the party’s governorship ticket with former governor, Chief James Ibori and the incumbent, Dr. Emmanuel Udua-ghan, it was gathered, believes that 2015 is his turn to rule the state and had asked Deltans to judge his contributions to the development of the state as a former minister and entrepreneur.
He was quoted to have said: “I am not boasting. I am the biggest investor in Delta State. All I desire is an opportunity to be in the driver’s seat and steer Delta to its destined riches and glory.”
He is likely to contend for the party’s ticket this time around with the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Mr. Victor Ochei; former Secretary to Delta State Government, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa and a host of others, who are in the race for the party’s gubernatorial ticket.
