The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon (Engr.) Victor Ochei has applauded Nigeria’s Blessing Okagbare for winning a silver medal in the long jump event at the on- going IAAF World Championship at the Olympic Stadium, Moscow Russia.
Hon Ochei posited that Okagbare’s attainment is the product of perseverance and commitment, which are necessary ingredients for achieving enduring successes in various endeavours, adding that it could not have come at a more auspicious moment more so, as it ended Nigeria’s fourteen year medal drought at previous editions of IAAF Championships.
According to him, “this feat is instructive, as it symbolises the doggedness with which Nigerians at home and in the diaspora are known for.”
