Akpabio Centre raises alarm over impostors

Chancellor of Akpabio Centre for Leadership Development, Pastor Bassey James, has raised alarm over the activities of some persons in Akwa Ibom State, under the guise of Akpabioism, impersonating him by issuing false statements and text messages, which seems to emanate from the centre, to unsuspecting members of the public.

Bassey, in a statement, yesterday, said: “We want to draw the attention of the general public and the media to the fact that nobody, apart from the Chancellor of the Centre, is authorised to issue statements, text message on behalf of the Centre .

“The centre is also aware of plans by these persons to fake or duplicate the activities and programmes of Akpabioism to gain undue favours from unsuspecting members of the public and cause confusion in the state.”

The Centre, according to the statement, is not a political association or pressure group, but a socially responsible and registered organisation, established to support the ideology of good governance and the agenda of Governor Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom State.
