NCS summit focuses on security, IT in governance

BARELY three weeks to the 2013 11th edition of the Nigerian Computer Science, (NCS) International Conference scheduled to hold this month in Osun State, organizers of the event have said that Information Technology in governance and security for global competitiveness, digital inclusion, economic growth, job creation, human capital development and overall prosperity would top discussion.

High profile speakers from different sectors of the economy and society, seasoned professionals, researchers, world-class experts and decision makers will engage and share experiences, ideas, and perspectives among others are expected to grace the event.

The conference, according to NCC comprises plenary, parallel and technical sessions, networking meetings, panel discussions and special focus forums. Interactive engagement will be used to facilitate learning and networking critically is the promotion of innovation and global best practices in addressing the national priorities of smart governance and security.

Issues to receive attention include governance automation, improving public service delivery, closing skills gaps, Public-key Infrastructure (PKI), ICT sector capacity, identity management, digital culture for governance, privacy, research approaches, legislation, policy making, youth innovation, among others.

As an international conference NCS Osun 2013 will provide avenues to connect with other IT professionals and stakeholders working on these areas in Nigeria and in other countries.

With international participation and attendees from all sectors, NCS said that there will be platforms for fresh, multidimensional and multi stakeholder insights and approaches. The stimulating event environment will expose attendees to partnerships, knowledge sharing, research, capacity-building and policy formulation opportunities.

A conference highlight advancing youth innovation is the hosting of the finals of the National IT Competitions for Students in Nigeria.
