‘Tourism needs capacity building’

National President of Nigerian Hotel & Catering Institute, Bola Jaiyeola has said that the  introduction of the Continuing Professional Education (CPE) of the body was to enhance  capacity building in the  tourism sector.

Speaking at the induction and investiture of new fellows in Lagos weekend, Jaiyeola said CPE is an avenue for hospitality professionals to update their knowledge and skills in existing and new areas of practice.

While berating the government for its inability to grade and classify hotels in the country, he urged the government to develop the country’s tourism sector.

Bola Jaiyeola called on the honorary and professional fellows to uphold the ethics of sound hospitality as well as be good ambassador of the institute.

Among those honoured include the immediate Director general, Nigeria Tourism Development Corporation, Otunba Segun Runsewe; Chief Adenigba Kayode; Dr. Wasiu Babalola; Mercy Anyafulu and Ayodele Gabriel among others.
