BAUCHI — At least five persons died while six others sustained injuries, Thursday, in an auto crash that occurred in KareKare village, Darazo Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
Vanguard gathered that the accident which took place at about 1.00 p.m, involved a Nissan commercial bus with number plate AE 372 GJW and Toyota Hilux with number plate XA 210 ALK.
The eyewitness disclosed that the accident was caused when the driver of the Hilux vehicle tried to over take and in the process, collided with the Nissan bus.
The state Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Commander, FRSC, Mr Sunday Olatunji, confirmed the incident, saying of the 24 persons involved in the accident, five were confirmed dead while six sustained injuries.
According to him,“18 males and six females were involved in the road crash.All the five persons that lost their lives were males while the six persons that were injuried were also men. When our officers got the information, they went to the scene of the crash and evacuated all the five corpses to Darazo General hospital while the injuried persons were given medical treatment at the hospital.”
