President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday hosted members of the People’s Democratic Party to a dinner in what was described as a “PDP Family Dinner” that attracted many state governors, the president of the senate, speaker if the House of Representatives, former chairmen of the party and other party, he chairman of the Board of trustees of the the Party, Chief Tony Annenih.
The dinner which started at about eight thirty in he evening wore a carnival like atmosphere with the Political Adviser to the President, Ahmed Gulak saying it was an indication that the party was ready to take back the states it lost to other parties through the courts.
Alhaji Gukak who spoke extensively on the resolve of the party to retain power promised the president that as long a the people who are gathered at the banquet hall of the presidential Villa were alive, “we will not let governance slip out of our hand in our life time. The foot soldiers are ready to work for you” he told he president.
According to the Political Adviser, despite the criticism from the opposition parties against the performance of the president, “Nigerians are satisfied with his performance and the allegations by the opposition should be ignored. The PDP is the only party that has leadership across the country, this is he first time that a president would be presenting a mid-term report in this country” he said.
Gulak said the “foot soldiers” of he president have refused to fight back the criticism against the Jonathan administration because “he president has restrained them from fighting back, saying that president Jonathan has the “largest heart” as a political leader.
