Two nabbed for impersonating naval personnel

LAGOS — Two persons have been arrested by the  Western Naval  Command  of the Nigerian Navy for allegedly impersonating naval personnel.

The suspects, Ajayi Toyin and  Adeboye Adeleye, were reportedly arrested while harassing members of the public at Iyana-Iba and Coker areas of Lagos. They were reportedly in full Navy rating  uniform.

The Western Naval Command Information Officer, Lieutenant Commander Jerry Omodara who confirme d the arrest, said: “Toyin Ajayi was arrested at Iyana Iba, Ojo area and Adeboye Adeleye at Coker Aguda area where they were both harassing innocent people and committing various illegalities claiming to be naval personnel.

They were arrested by the Patrol Team put in place by the Flag Officer Commanding Western Naval Command, Rear Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas as a result of  series of complains received . The Patrol  Team is also to ensure no Naval personnel is seen violating the Lagos law on the ridding of motor bike on specific routes in Lagos”

Omodara added that the suspects were yesterday handed over to  policemen at  Area ‘B’ Apapa command command for prosecution .
