Three charged in Delta over alleged theft of mosquito nets


UGHELLI—Three persons, including a staff of Patani Local Government Area of Delta State, have been charged to court over their alleged involvement in the theft and illegal sale of insecticide mosquito nets meant for the just concluded Roll Back Malaria, RBM, programme in the state.

The accused persons, according to the chairman of Ughelli North Local Government Transition Committee, Chief Friday Akpoyibo, were charged before a  Magistrate CourtI sitting in Ughelli.

He said; “Five hundred of the nets earmarked for distribution free of charge to the people were stolen and supplied to a trader at the Ughelli main market at N175,000 by a council staff at N450 each.”
