Sambo woos Canadian investors

Abuja – Vice President Namadi Sambo has called on Canadian Investors to invest in Nigeria as the nation’s frontiers are opened to accommodate all investment drives.

A statement issued in Abuja on Saturday by the Vice President’s Senior Special Assistant on Media, Malam Umar Sani, said Sambo made the call at a dinner organised in his honour by the Nigerian High Commission in Toronto, Canada on Friday.

It stated that the vice president tasked the prospective investors to invest in the power, transport, health, education, agriculture , mining, information and communication technology, security and good governance.

According to the statement, Sambo called on the investors to come to Nigeria as there is an investment climate that will be beneficial to them.

“He further assured the investors of a friendly environment and noted the efforts to fight corruption and other forms of crime.

On insecurity, Sambo assured that the problem was being tackled in a matured manner and that very soon those challenges would be surmounted.

It quoted the High Commissioner to Canada, Chief Ojo Madueke, as thanking the Canadian Government for facilitating the realisation of the conference, and for the large turnout of Canadian investors at the event.

According to the statement, highlight of the event was a toast proposed by the vice president for a fruitful friendship and prosperity between Nigeria and Canada. (NAN)
