BENIN — A Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Mr. Femi Falana has called on the Osun State Government to re-open investigation into the murder of the former Attorney General of the Federation, Chief Bola Ige, just as he called on the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Muhammed Abubakar, to apologise to the people of Edo State and Governor Adams Oshiomhole on the manner the investigation into the murder of the governor’s late Principal Private Secretary, Mr. Olaitan Oyerinde was handled by the Police.
This came as the widow of the late Oyerinde, Mrs Funke Oyerinde, yesterday, cried out that it had not been easy looking after their four children in the past four years without the husband and placed a curse on the killers.
On his part, Governor Oshiomhole, who lamented the prevailing insecurity in the country, described late Oyerinde as irreplaceable and regretted that the deceased never had the opportunity to collect the money he approved for him to travel abroad with his family before his death, describing the killers as cowards who will never have peace in their lives.
Falana, Oshiomhole and Mrs Oyerinde, who spoke in Benin, during the 1st year anniversary of Oyerinde’s death, also called for a corona inquest into the death.
