Osun, Olasunkanmi disagree over Aregbesola’s performance

Former Minister of Youths, Senator Akinlabi Olasunkanmi and Osun State government, yesterday, disagreed over the achievements of the Governor Aregbesola-led government in the state.

Olasunkanmi, who is now a gubernatorial aspirant on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in a session with newsmen, declared Aregbesola’s three year stewardship as a failure, which has only counted success in the realm of propaganda.

However, in a swift reaction, Osun State’s Director of Communications, Mr. Semiu Okanlawon, said the concept of PDP’s project commissioning is using N1 million to execute a project and spending N10 million to commission it, which he described as waste of people’s resources.

Olasunkanmi said: “Aregbesola will be three years in office come November. Have you seen him commission any project since he assumed office?

“The only thing he has done was when he came out to engage 20,000 youths in Yes’O programme, where he asked them to be sweeping streets and paying them N10,000 each.

Responding, Okanlawon said: “When PDP was in government, the entire road project they commissioned for almost eight years was less than 500 kilometres of road.

“But in less than three years of Governor Aregbesola’s administration, he has completed over 600 kilometres of road across the state, apart from 10 kilometer road per local government, which is ongoing right now.

“This administration has developed the state capital and I can tell you that there are many intra-city roads.”
