Nokia’s new Lumia series, gender sensitive

Over time one of the major problems many trendy and smart ladies experience in almost all the smartphones has generally been how to navigate the phones with their usually well manicured long nails. Majority of the smartphones just can’t bulge at the touch of the finger nails and since the ladies’ thumbs are always under the protection of the long nails, navigation becomes highly problematic.

But in the new range of low cost high-end Nokia Lumia series, the 720 and 520 models the mobile giants introduced into the Nigerian market Wednesday, the ladies have nothing to worry about, no matter how long the nails.

While unveiling the phone, Nokia’s GM, Sales Nigeria, Mr Chris Brown experimented how ladies with long fingers could easily browse the phone even with the nails. The phones also consider people who constantly wear gloves in the cold temperate regions as the devices responds perfectly to glove touch.

The new smartphones which both run on the Windows Phone 8 operating system were launched in partnership with Airtel Nigeria and Microsoft Nigeria.  This partnerships builds into the devices a free 500 Megabytes (MB) data plan for the first 6 months on the Airtel network when user recharge with N1,000.

According to Brown, the Lumia 520 is Nokia’s most affordable Lumia smartphone and is designed with a number of rich innovations. The device comes in colourful changeable covers, a four inch super sensitive touchscreen with 800x480p screen resolution. It runs on a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and spots the Nokia HERE location suite and local apps such as Jandus Radio, Soundcity and Konga.

Also available in eye-catching colors, is the Nokia Lumia 720. Sleek and stylish and expresses the Nokia unique unibody design without edges and joints. The devices have very highly responsive user interface with super sensitive touch and brings an innovative lamination process for wider viewing angles and enhanced clarity in bright conditions.

Yet Nokia made advancements to include an optional wireless charging covers. No wonder, Nokia MD, West and Central Africa, Mr Nick Imudia, declared that with the local launch of these two new devices has broadened the Nokia Lumia range and ensured that more people get to enjoy the technology in this part of the world.
