Federations’ elections hold tomorrow

Elections for the positions of Presidents and vice Presidents of sports federations have been scheduled for tomorrow at the National Stadium, Abuja.

According to the announcement by  the National Sports Federation Electoral Committee, the elections will begin from 10 a.m.

“All elected members of the various federations from the zones and nominated stakeholders into the boards are to participate in the elections,” the announcement added.

Participants in the elections are required to show a valid international passport, driver’s license or national identity card to enable electoral officials do proper screening.

However, elections for the positions of President and Vice president in the Board of the Nigerian Boxing Federation have been postponed.

The postponement was as a result of the non-readiness of the NBF’s statute, which is a requirement for elections.

A draft of the statutes submitted to the International Boxing Association (AIBA) is yet to be approved.

The NSFEC has assured all stakeholders of a free, fair and transparent elections.
