Chairman of Delta State Board of Internal Revenue,DBIR, Mr.Joel-Onowakpo Thomas,has said that the ongoing transformation process in the Board will make it a reference point in Africa in relation to the continent’s tax system.
He also said that Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan had set up Information Commission Technology in all the offices of the agency across the state.
Joel-Onowakpo, in Asaba at the closing ceremony of a five-day retreat organised for staff of the board, as part of the plans to launch the state into continental limelight, told staff that aside the approval for generating plants for all the offices of the board in the state, the state governor, Uduaghan was doing everything possible to ensure that the revenue base of the state was increased and all leakages blocked.
He said, “If the ICT project is consummated as the idea is conceived, there will be no tax system in Africa that will be better than the one we will have in Delta State. Let me inform that there are massive transformation and reformation currently going on within the board.”
