ABUJA — To fast-track Nigeria’s ambition of generating multiple sources of power to meet the electricity needs of industrialists and members of the public, the Federal Government has inaugurated a ministerial committee to develop a coal-to-power generation source for the country.
Inaugurating the committee, Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Musa Mohammed Sada, said the inauguration of the committee was necessitated by the fact that Nigeria was endowed with large quantities of coal deposits that could be exploited for coal powered plants to meet the nation’s electricity needs.
He urged the committee members to handle their assignment with all seriousness.
