Coach Tony Ukeachu has welcomed the decision of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF in naming Shaibu Amodu as it’s national Technical Director.
Speaking to our correspondent on telephone, Ukeachu said, “Amodu’s appointment is a welcome development. To me he meets all the credentials to handle the job as an experienced coach. His record at club and national team duty puts him far above others seen to have shown interest for the office ,” he said.
“I am highly delighted at the news of Amodu’s appointment because he is one well known in the country. He is vast in the art and act of football coaching and knowledgeable in aspects of management which the new office demands. I believe he will endear cooperation towards development of the game in concert with his fellow coaches,” Ukeachu said.
The former Iwuanyanwu Nationale, Enyimba and Udoji United handler said “this is about the most heart-thumping decision ever to be be taken by NFF in recent time,” adding, “I see Amodu as one that would be there to enhance the jobs of Stephen Keshi and other national team handlers, but also one that would engineer change.
I know he and Keshi previously worked together in the past, handling the national team and produced adorable results. I have no doubt in my mind that both men would work getting the job done and I think they can forge a wonderful partnership in the NFF.”
