PORT HARCOURT— RIVERS State governor, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, has assured that his administration will continue to ensure safety of lives and property in the state.
Amaechi, in his Democracy Day message to the state, also appealed to security operatives and the people to cooperate with the state government to ensure the security of lives and property.
He said: “As we enter into the third year of our final tenure, we want to reassure you of our commitment to our oath of office to safeguard lives and property of everyone, who lives or does business in Rivers State. We shall leave no stone unturned in our quest to ensure that our people live in a safe and secured environment. We call on our people and the security agencies to continue to cooperate with government to help sustain the peace that we now enjoy.”
The governor recalled the ugly security situation he met on ground when he assumed office in 2007 and the effort of his administration to restore peace in the state.
Amaechi spoke extensively on the success of his administration in the areas of education, health, agriculture and empowerment programmes.
Governor Amaechi, who assured that his administration will continue to deliver on its election promises, expressed gratitude to God for His blessings upon the state.
