Wearable Tech: Is iWatch the next big thing?

Wearable technology has actually been the in- thing among techie bugs, mobile geeks and device makers in recent times. But the rate at which iWatch or smart watch technology is getting the attention of major mobile device makers, we doubt if its not going to be the next big thing on offer. Sony Mobile at the release of its flagship smartphones, the Xperia Z, attached a Smart Watch which it said would give a wackie complement to the phones and other compatible smartphones. The sony Android-based SmartWatch keeps the user informed hands-free and connects easily with the Xperia, as much as it also allows the user easily find his phone.

According to Sony, one can actually make and receive his calls through the smartwatch. However in the case of answering a call, a compatible Bluetooth would be needed. It helps users tuck their phones away while easily operating it on the smaller device tied around the wrist.

Now, the news is that Apple may also drop its own wearable iWatch into the market very soon.

The rumour is actually that the iWatch is indeed in development, amid a slew of signs that tech giants are backing wearable tech as the next big thing.

Microsoft too, is set to jump onboard the wearable technology bandwagon, This is as Glamtech gets the buzz that the software giant is working on its own smartwatch.
Some international journals reported that Microsoft has asked suppliers in Asia to provide components for a potential watch-style device.  If this is true, such a device could be powered by its Windows Phone operating system.

Device makers are looking at wearable devices like watches, glasses as intimate cutting edge technology that would be as important to the user as the mobile phone itself.
