Adokiye
The war of words between former Rivers State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Adokiye Amiesimaka and the Nigeria Football Federation continues after the former national team players described the football house as made up of “terribly low calibre and immature people.”
He reacted to the response of the NFF this way:
Fact: If you ever had any doubt about the terribly low calibre and immaturity of people running our football and want to know why they find it so challenging to get sponsors, what more evidence would you need? Surprise, surprise!
So these folks that are RUINING our football instead of running it still have money to embark on this fruitless venture!
Fact: The NFA Act 2004 subsists. The ‘NFF’ is not known to law!
Fact: The ‘National Sports Commission (NSC)’ too does not exist in law as I have always pointed out, and this will be the case until the ‘NSC Draft Bill’ becomes law after going through necessary processes in the National Assembly.
Fact: If what qualifies you to ‘speak on the administration of the game’ is your willingness to engage in those corrupt practices that Coach Kadiri Ikhana MON in exasperation publicly accused the ‘NFF’ and its cohorts of, then I am certainly not qualified to speak on it!
Fact: Amiesimaka will not speak about himself because he does not need to do so. But when an organisation that depends on public funds to run our football believes that members of the public should let it act with impunity and cannot comment on its actions you can see how misguided it is and how low it has sunk on the public accountability scale.
Fact: If you think you are being ‘proactive’ when your actions can only make a bad situation worse, then you probably do not understand the essence of that concept.
Fact: It is simply bad management in the context of wanting to produce a winning team that even you acknowledge to be ‘work in progress’, to sack trusted assistants of the Chief Coach without any prior reference to him.
