Delta ethnic groups set to confront FG over OMLs

By Emma Arubi

WARRI—REPRESENTATIVES of the five ethnic nationalities in Delta State have restated their commitment to confront Federal Government over the alleged illegal sales of oil facilities in their communities to non-indigenes, without granting them the right of first refusal.

They said their appeal to Federal Government so far by individuals appears to have fallen on deaf ears, promising that they were now prepared to take their destinies in their hands, except the sales of the Oil Mining Licences, OMLs, were reversed immediately.

These were some of the resolutions reached at the meeting of stakeholders from the various ethnic nationalities in Warri and chaired by Chief Ayiri Emami.

The nationalities warned that it was dangerous to take them for granted, adding that they had been cheated for too long.

Those that represented the ethnic nationalities include, Johnny Aribogha, Faro Egbo Kome Idhese and Emmanuel Uti.
