The national under -17 team, the Golden Eaglets perfected their plans yesterday ahead of today’s 2013 CAF U-17 championship semi-final clash against Tunisian at the Marrakech Grand Stade.
The players were upbeat about making Nigerians happy after today’s game. They were upbeat as they chanted war songs as they rode back to their Hotel Riad Magador camp in a luxury bus after training.
The players engaged the combined team of the coaching crew, medical and back room staff in a singing competition as they rode back to their hotel.
While coach Amunike triggered the ‘old school ‘ songs sang during his playing days in the Super Eagles which he rendered for about two minutes, the players replied with a gospel song and it continued till they got back to their hotel. The players ended with the National Anthem and they were very happy.
Speaking on their readiness in the semi final match today, captain of the team, Musa Mohammed said they are ready for the match and would give it their all to make Nigerians proud.
He said, “We have prepared very well and are battle ready against Tunisia in tomorrow’s (today) semi final match. All my teammates are ready and I am happy that the injured players from the last game against Congo are back.”
Defenders Chidiebere Nwakali and Prince Izuchukwu; and Bernard Bulbua a striker picked up injuries in the last game..
